Our mission is to equip creatives with the skills needed to access opportunities in Africa’s creative economy. ADMI has been awarded a $90,000 grant by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to connect young digital creatives to market in a six-month incubation program.
The Digital Media Incubator, in partnership with Jenga CCI of GIZ supported by Goethe-Institut is enabling creatives to create quality content and explore new markets and opportunities in the digital economy. 60 young creatives were selected to participate in the program across four cohorts: Music Artists, Music Production, Podcasting, and 2D Animation. The program which started in October 2021 will address the key challenges creatives face in monetizing and earning a decent living from their content. Participants will be trained by industry experts to ideate, produce, and sell market-ready content.
The program involves one-on-one sessions, masterclasses, and peer mentorship forums. They also visit external studios where they get to handle industry-standard facilities and equipment. For a more holistic experience, some of the sessions are facilitated by industry professionals in their area of expertise. The participants are having an all-rounded and enjoyable experience overall. They are currently working on the projects they will showcase at the end of the program in May 2022, which include animations and songs they started working on from scratch.
