Warner Music South Africa has partnered with the Africa Digital Media Institute to advance its vision of addressing systemic racism and making real change in the lives of historically underserved and marginalized populations in Africa.
Monday, 11th July 2022: The Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI), a leading digital career accelerator, has partnered with Warner Music South Africa to provide Kenyan creatives with the skills, networks, and tools they need to have self-sustaining creative careers.
This partnership is powered by the SJF Repertoire Fund which focuses on three strategic pillars – criminal justice reform, education, and arts and culture. The fund also creates opportunities for youth empowerment, planting seeds for future generations to thrive. The fund’s focus pillars align with ADMI’s mission of empowering millions of young Africans to create content for profit and impact.
“We are thrilled to receive support from Warner Music South Africa to continue transforming the lives of Kenyan youth,” said Dr. Laila Macharia, ADMI Chair. “This grant will enable us to expand our network of creative entrepreneurs and professionals and to continue providing pathways to professional freedom and self-sufficiency for talented yet underserved youth.”
This grant will enable ADMI to provide scholarships to marginalized students in the creative industry. Beneficiaries will be provided with world-class training, coaching, and technical resources to sustain their work for the long term.
“In the inaugural cycle of SJF Repertoire Fund in Sub-Saharan Africa, we were very deliberate in finding organizations not only reflective of the focus pillars but also across various countries to reflect the diversity of the continent,” said Temi Adeniji, Managing Director, Warner Music South Africa / SVP, Sub-Saharan Africa Strategy and SVP, Special Projects at WMG and also a Vice President of the WMG/BFF SJF.
