2020 seems to have gone by in a flash, and we needed to slam on the brakes and take a quick impact snapshot, and report on our progress, in order to see what we have achieved this year to date.
We’re delighted to share this report with you, which highlights what progress we have made towards our goals, and also thank the phenomenal partners that have helped us get there.
Some of the highlights include:
- Launch of the Rubika Video Game and Animation courses at ADMI, in partnership with the Agence française de développement (AFD) and Rubika
- Launch of the Animation Incubator, in partnership with HEVA Fund
- Three webinars held around the topic #CreativesAgainstCovid
- ADMF appeared on CNBC Africa discussing the state of the entertainment industry in times of COVID.
Through all of this, and the other activities that you will find in the report, we have worked with more than 25 inspirational partners, engaged with creatives in more than 20 countries, and laid the groundwork for large-scale projects that will provide opportunities to thousands of young creatives across Africa.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the organisations and individuals that have worked alongside us so far in 2020, to achieve vast impact, and to innovate and adapt in the face of the momentous challenges that we have been faced with this year. Amongst them we can count The Agence française de développement (AFD) , Microsoft4Afrika, Equity Group Foundation , and the McNulty Foundation , amongst many others, all of which are mentioned in the Mid-year Impact Report here.
We truly look forward to the rest of the year ahead, as we continue to mobilise skills, financing and policy change to create jobs for youth in Africa’s creative economy. We have big plans for the next few years and we know that we are surrounded by strong partnerships that will help us to get there.
